Merry Christmas I stamped snowflakes on the back ground in stead of adding pattern paper the bird is a Tim Holtz die. Just add a button and a little twine and there you go. The is stamp out the same on all of the cards. I use shabby shutters distress ink to stamp and to color in I used other distress greens and rock candy distress stickles mix together. A Hugh thanks goes out to Sherry Carol from hero arts She showed us how to make this tree in Jenifer Mcguire's online classes. If you have never take one before they are fun. I can go at my on pace and not have to pack up my stuff and take it with me. Thanks for these wonderful classes Jenifer!

Oh Come all Ye Faithful I just Love the look of lace on cards and with pattern paper behind it makes it even pop.

Oh Holy Night the sentiment alone makes me want to sing Christmas carols. I added lace and twine at the bottom as to not take away from the beautiful tree.

Don't you just love the jingle bells. I really love the pink and blue together the banner cut using my slice and then I stamped seasons greeting and added two brads

SO here is another card using this wonderful tree and sentiment from Hero Arts. I love this one a lot. I used gems and pearls on the tree. I used blue twine and oops it got moved over a little I will have to move that back into place. I'm dreaming of a white Christmas is my favorite Christmas song sung only by Bing Crosby.

OK what can I say but I am sorry that I am so long in posting. I have some great cards to share all from Hero arts Christmas tree set. I fell in love with this stamp set and could not get enough so I have made a few to share. For the 1st card the star is a die cut from my slice as well as the reindeer. I stamp out the miracle of Christmas on to vellum and added it to the deer. For the falling snow I used liquid applique and added glossy accents on top.

Ooooh I made my first slider card and wanted it to match up with the invitations that I had made in an earlier post since it was for the same little girl. She loved it and i was so tickled to see her enjoy her card. I used some of the same papers as well. I downloaded the font from Dafont.com for free it is such a great way to get fonts to match your card.

I thought it would be nice to send Abby's Teacher a card to say happy first day of school. I think we sometimes forget to stop and think of our children's teachers on the everyday spectrum of daily life. I know we all remember to give them a gift at Christmas as well as the end of the school year. So I just felt what a nice way to say Hi other than just sending an email. And why not it just means that I get to create another card.

What a great and long summer it was. Even though it seemed to fly by. I was a little shaken by the Earth Quake and Hurrican that hit. It is hard to believe that we where at the Outter Banks NC eaither this summer and about a week after we got back is when everything started to happen first there where 3 shark attacks and a hurrican. I just thank GOD we had a safe holiday.

The week before school started my friend Maria and My Husband and I took the 3 girls Her 2 and my one to kings island for the day. And when I say day I mean 9 hours worth of day. But wow what a great time they had. Abby surprised me by riding the racers not once but twice and she was a little scared of the first hill but after that she loved it.

I finally got a chance to use my new stamp sets from PTI I am loving this set I have wanted it ever since it came out so I finally bought it. So of course I have made a simple Thank you card.

This is the 1st is a series of 3 which I plan on making a full set of 10 for my envelope stationary set. for the measurements of the paper pieces please see the previous posts. Used the same 4 strips of paper for all 3 cards. Again I love the simple look of these. My Sister ask me to make her a set of 12 cards with her initial on them but very simple cards and I got hooked. I love to make the very basic simple as well as a very intricate card. I have found when the time comes some papers will speak to me and say hey remember me why not combined me with the other paper and then it all falls into place. It is like that with color for me as well. I have always like adding different or at the time some thought odd color combos together before those colors would be popular together like teal and green. I have always had a eye for color and still do. It really shows in my quilts as well as my paper crafting. This is the one talent that I felt God gave me (and i do mean other than being a wife and mother )and I am proud of it.

I really keep this card simple with only two stamps and scraps of paper this is actually the 3rd card in the set of three that I made at the same time. I only used three strips of paper to make all three cards the first strip was 12 x 1 1/4in, 12 x 1in and two at 12x 3/4 in. I used the same stamp from stamp in up. I love how sweet and simple these turned out. I think I am going to make an entire set of 10 for one of my box sets as a gift. But then I am loving these colors.

I am so loving this color combo and having so much fun with it.

I used my Slice Design card basic shapes it has great quilting shapes such as hexagons which I used to cut 1 1/2in out of October afternoon, Cosmo cricket and jillibean soup paper. The stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms Sweet Bee I made it very simple how ever I was going to add a butterfly and forgot go figure.... I still have 3 more card to post and share with you. So I will be back in a few to post those.....

Light Houses

My very first time ever seeing lighthouses. I never really appreciated them until now. And wow what a site they are.

this is Ocracoke Abby was able to say the name right before I was and I think this one was our favorite light house or at least the name is.

Welcome to Hatteras we where not able to go up they closed it due to the heat. But Abby can tell you that there are 284 stairs

And last but not least this is Bodie Lighthouse that is Abby in the field in front of the Light House.

I think I am hooked I would love to go and see more lighthouses.

First a Hugh Thank you shout out to my MOM for staying at our place taking care of Frankie Rue our dog and our 2 cats Ammo and Diamond. I am so glad to be back home but what a great vacation we had in the Outer Bank NC I will have more pic to share with our vacation a little later but for now here is a card for the Summer card camp. My Husband found a scrapbook store in the Outer Banks and I bought 2 light house stamps this stamp is of Ocracoke Light House. It was a beautiful site to see, I never really appreciated them until now.

I made a garden gate card for for this lovely stamp from Impression Obsession I used copics and colored pencils.(yes I know I used green which is not in the color combo but it needed it) I made it for a Thank You card for Dale for making the most wonderful cookies for us on vacation. Thank you Dale.

The color combo of the week was a little hard for me to get my head around at first then I went through all my papers and go figure these colors where popping up alot. So this was a lot easy than I thought. How ever once I sat down it got a little harder I am used to using more colors so this was a good challenge for me.

I used odd & Ends from Cosmo Cricket paper and for the stamps and back ground I used Hero Arts stamps ricrac and a button.

It has been a little wet today and I can't believe that I am about to say this but we needed it. After all the rain we had this spring it was been a little dry so a little rain is ok.

Happy Wednesday Everyone

I have another card to share with you I had it done late last night but the lighting was so bad that the pictures did not show up. So I had to wait until this morning to take the pic. and I just love hot air balloons. The last time WPAFB had the hot air balloon show I think my husband and I where still dating. so that had to be over 15 years ago. I made this card for him "fly away with me" Like any couple we have our arguments but they never last long. I used to dwell on them but even over time I have learned that it's just not worth it. Even if I am right and he is wrong I but my two cents in and walk away. Then the next day he is all flirty with me so I know the tricks now and in the end I was right anyway. LOL

So A Happy Anniversary goes out to my Hubby Which is June 29th TODAY 15 years YEAH!

I was thinking of my sister today and the most wonderful tropical place they just bought in Costa Rica. So I will be sending this card out to her.T he funny thing is I am not worried about her reading my blog because she never dose. LOL. I love her anyway.

The paper is basic Grey Sweet threads. I stamped and embossed the flower from stamp in up on neehan. Ok i have to admit I am loving this paper I finally broke down and bought some. Summer Card Camp Is Finally Here!

Summer is here and the summer card Camp class has started I got my first card made this morning and it took all day for my to finally get it uploaded. But here it is finally. I really love the color combo for the week. And with a little luck I think tonight I might just get a chance to get another one started. I am excited this is the first camp I have ever been to and I don't have to leave home. I have had butterflies I was so excited for the Camp to start. You Make Life Sweet is MFT stamps she is just so cute and reminds me of Abby always wanting Ice Cream. The boarder flower is also MFT die-namics.The cone is from Unity I just Love the versatility of this set. Circle and scallop is spellbinders and the banner is from Slice Bramisso.

The paper is Echo Park can card stock I paper pieced her dress and used copics fuchsia, pale fruit pink and skin white.

Summer and Icecream

When I saw this stamp all I could like of was my darling Abby She loves Ice cram (specially cookie dough) and to wear her sunglasses. SO I knew I had to have this beautiful stamp from Stamping Bella named Lacy. The papers are from October afternoon and Echo Park the flower is MFT die.

I made this card for Abby for her turning 7 1/2 I know it is crazy to celebrate 1/2 birthdays but this one is special. It took 15 year to get to this point because we never thought we would be able to have any Children. And when she was born on Christmas eve it was 7 1/2 years that we waited for that moment. My Darling Husband and I will have been married 15 years. on June 29th.

Strawberry Heaven

Sweet Goodness

Here in good old Ohio it hit in the 90's today and it was humid. Poor Rick decided that we had better start on the garden and rented a tiller because my garden was over ran with weeds. So while he was busy with that I was trying to deweed the strawberries, and oh what a mess it was. However I realised after starting that I needed a little help, such as garden gloves a trash bag and a bowl for all the strawberries that needed picked. Well needless to say as fast as I was deweeding and pick strawberries Abby was eating them. She keep saying this are to die for Mommy I want to eat them all and she ate about 1/2 a quart. An oh if you have never picked and ate a strawberry in the heat then go and try them. They are the sweetest and juiciest strawberry's I have ever had. All my friends are talking about going to Troy (where the strawberry fest is) and pick strawberries well more power to them LOL. I just pick 4quarts out of my own garden and I am only half done.

Oh the sweet taste of SUMMER!

I don't know what she had more fun doing playing on her slip and slide or eating strawberry! But it was a perfect day for both.

PS I too love strawberries and cherries ooh can't forget the cherries. Oh yeah I just remembered we took Abby to the drive in and and asked to try come cherries and she loved them as well that and she enjoyed spitting the seeds out like Mommy. And the child ate a carrot today and that is a big deal. She used to love them as a baby but then would not touch one until today. She has come a long way and is finally willing to try things. YEAH!

Shadow Sew Box

I love a good challenge and a Friend had given me this little box and said I would love to see what you can do with this. So what do I love but to sew and this was a perfect way to display what I enjoy doing. The little girl was from b-line stamps and she is sitting on a wood spool that my Darling Hubby cut in half for me. I used a thimble and iron from (you got it) A Monopoly game and scrabble tiles the hugh dress form is from Tim Holtz dies. The box is small and came from the dollar store. I am hooked I had to go and get more I am thrilled to make a bunch more and I am almost done with the second one.

Stationary sets

A while back a made a lot of stationary envelope box sets and I felt it was time to share with all of you. I have made and quite a few of these and with the Martha Stewart score board and envelope tool it was easy enough and a lot of fun to create. I made one for my Sister in law for her birthday last year and everyone fell in love with them and I got a lot of orders for Birthday's and Christmas and I really loved making them. Since I first started I have made some adjustments and made them a little more tailored. I use my slice for cutting my Monograms. This is the first one I ever made for Sharri (my sister in law)

The next set I made was for My (Brother in law) Steve's friend Dale, which he needed for a birthday gift. I fell in love with all my stationary boxes and almost hated to give them up. But then I just got into wanting to create more and no two are ever alike.

This last picture is a little blurry sorry about that.

This is another set that I made for Dale. (God love him and Steve for every time they ordered one it made my day I would get excited like a school girl.) I love to get into the creating of a new and I am always excited to see how they are going to turn out myself. I do have some favorite ones and I keep telling my self I am going to create another just like it but I never have the heart to do that. It is just one of a kind and to me that makes it even more special.

This the First stamp that Abby Picked out and asked me to get to make her a card. How Surprised she will be to get her card on Easter. The Stamp is by Mo Manning called Birthday Fairy Lee. I stamped and it out and cut out around the stamp leaving a slight border around. The Circle flower and Eater is cut on the Slice. The Flowers are Tim Holtz tattered Flower Die. Slice Love Part 3

Wow I have seen so many cool Cards and books out for the Cricut and I was feeling a little left out. You see I don't own a Cricut. As you call see by my blog name I have a SLICE! I have had some friends tell me I should get one but They take up so much room and I have invested in a lot of design cards for My Slice. But I will see a card that I really like and find out that the person had used their Cricut or spellbinders (mind I do have spellbinders and love them but this is about the Slice) and I will tell myself I can do that using my Slice. I love my slice and all the design cards that Making Memories have come out with. OF course I am still always wanting more but then who doesn't. So I have decided for the Love of Slice I was going to making some cards using no other die cuts but theirs. From my 2 earlier posts at you can see I just a bunch of frames for the Cameos and at times I did hit a little road block but the challenge made it all the more fun.
SO how i have created two kids cards using of course the slice a birthday greeting stamp and one embossing folder.

Little miss Monster or is she and Alien oh what does it matter she so stinking CUTE! With was a fun card to make. I made an A2 card and matted on top with the red just 1/8" smaller then I cut the white to the size that I wanted and I did cut a few extra to have on hand in case I made a mistake. So I line up the white piece of card stock on my slice mat and used Falala design card and cut the #7 at 2 1/2" I got it right where I wanted it the first try and added paper to the back. ( This is what challenged me I saw someone had done this using the Cricut so I knew I was going to have to try using the Slice.) For the edge border that looks like a cloud was cut form the Greeting design card at 3 1/2". The balloon was cut using the Parties card cut at 2". For my Monster she is from the Playtime Fabrique design card cut at size # 3. Ok If you have not gotten and Fabrique design cards yet I tell you what I have fallen in love with them there are 6 different sizes and for the monster since I used Size #3 she is 2.6"wx2.8"h ( for scrapbooker is you wanted her even bigger and this is great size #6 is 4.1"wx4.6"h. what a great feature this is.)

For the Rocket man card I did the same thing with the #8 that I did with the #7 on the monster card. but I did cut the #8 out in the black glitter and layer it on top or it would look like an eight. The #8 was cut from Think Pink design card at 2 1/2" for the planet Saturn I cut the bubble and shadow at 2 1/2" and for Saturn's ring I used the letter O cut at 3 1/2" from Home Sweet Home design card. The Rocket is the design card Playtime as well cut at size #2. I pop dotted only half of the rocket and Saturn so it gave it the look of motion.

Cameo Card #2 This Cameo reminds me of Barbie.
What a great birthday card it made. I really wanted to keep both simple and clean. A little understated yet still very girly.

All the frames and flower are die cut from the Greeting Slice design card. The first frame and shadow are cut at 3 1/2". The next frame and shadow are cut at 3".

On the base of the card for Happy Birthday the first frame and shadow are cut at 3" the next frame and Shadow are cut at 2 1/2". For the flower I cut it twice at 2 1/2"

I have created two Cameo cards using Slice Design cards. I really love these silhouette stamps from Hero arts and what a perfect way to use them than with slice frames. I have had some issues with my slice but Making Memories has been wonderful Thank you Valeria for all of you help. So to give back some love I have created a few cards to share using Slice design cards for all of my die cutting.

Happy Mother's Day Twisted Easel Card

For the card I Used Slice Design card Remember This. The frame and shadow is cut at

3 1/2". Under the next two frames is from Studio Essentials scalloped frame cut at 3 1/2" and 4" (this card does not have the Ms+ or Mirroring and shadow.)

The Happy Mothers Day frames are cut using the Paper Reverie the frame and Shadow is cut at 3 1/2".

I used Basic Grey Paper Hello Luscious 6x6. I also used 1/8" thick pop dots.

Spring time in Paris

OK With out any further ado here are My Spring time in Paris cards. I have been trying to get them up all week, However with all the rain and flooding that we have had it has been a messy week. I have had to mop up water twice and there is nothing that can be done to stop the flooding in my family room until late spring. Once the rain stops and it gets warm we can try and fix the problem for good, Abby keeps saying we have a river flowing in our family room.

I Want to color Eggs Mommy.

So this is what Abby had to say to me when I boiled eggs. I want color eggs today. This was Fri Feb 25 all the kids in Huber here out of school due to bad weather. So I told her sure why not might has well have something to do other than watch TV. So we colored EGGS... So I forgot to get Pics of her coloring the eggs however I did get a great Idea. I ran and got her a piece of water color canvas paper and an old paint brush and let her have it painting with the egg color dies.

I mean why not it was way cooler than using finger paint and the colors where so brightly pastel and the color was not going to fade like finger paint. My Mom and I where so surprised by how bright and pastel the color where. She got the biggest kick out of her hands being stain with the die all different colors. But that didn't last, by the next day her hands where back to normal.

Moxie Fab World Paper piecing

I love to Paper piece and when My Best Friend Nickie Eccles told me about Moxie Fab World I knew I just had to play too.....

I have a lot of little details going on in this card. I used scraps of paper to paper piece the bird, flowers and leaves. I wanted the to add some extra pieces to the branches so by stamping it out and cutting it apart I was able to get the look that I was after. The bird and branch stamp is from from Memory Box. The bike is a stamp as well from Hero Arts stamps. The rocks I stamped out on a piece of paper colored and cut them out to lay randomly on the ground. The rocks are a stamp from IO (impression obsession). The Sun was cut from my slice I also cut the green grass part from hand and the words "Here Comes the Sun" Where typed and printed out on velum.

1st Merry Christmas to all..

It has been a very busy December for me. I Had my first show Handmade Dayton in the Cannery Downtown the first weekend in Dec. What a blast it was. I was a little intimated at first but Thanks to my Friend Nicky (sunnyskyecreations.blogspot.com) She showed me the ropes and what a great time it was too. We Shared a booth and had a wonderful time meeting new people.

So the very next weekend I did another show called the Santa Shop at Dance Etc. It was a lot of fun meet some great people there as well and got a lot of orders for my Neckwarmers/Cowls

So I am ready to go at this again next year. Thanks to all of you who came out and supported us.

I hope that everyone had a fun and safe Halloween. My DD had a great time.

Now that Thanksgiving is near, I think that we all start to count our blessing though we do so all year, this is the time of year that we like to share them with everyone. Now I am getting excitied I love the fall. The Sat before Thanksgiving we have a family reunion. To me that is something to be thankful for. Spending time with family. I am thinking of how blessed I am when the holidays come (as well as everyday of the year) that I get to see holiday spirits light up in my DD eyes whom GOD blessed us with on Christmas Eve 2003. For this I am truly blessed, for we never thought that we would have a child. ( i guess that is why you see a lot of little girls in the cards that I make).

Happy Fall Everyone......

The air is turning crisp and cool. The leaves on the trees are changing colors. What a great time of the year it is, what with the hay rides and picking pumpkins it gets me and my family all excited for the holidays. My DD Abby is getting excited to have a Halloween party at school and go trick or treating. So here are 5 cards that I designed for Simply Scrapbooks and MPTS.

Don't you just love her Purple Hair. She is frightfully wanting to be a little Gothic. She is from the Greeting Farm set called sweet and toxic. The flower is hand made with October afternoon paper. The background paper was from 3 different line jenni bowlin, indie girl and jillibean. Her clothes are from Basic grey Halloween line.

You Know That Santa Is on the Way!

The Greeting Farm Miss Anya ready for Chirstams. She is paper pieced with memory box 6x6 pad and the back ground is Noel from making memories. The presnets that are kind of hidden on the card are cut using the slice. This is a pop up pull up card and you can find the direations under hero arts pop up pull up on youtube. This card is a lot of fun to make and as you can see on down in the othe pics that it can stand up on it's own.

HoHoHo! Sleigh Bells ring and Snow Just Gleams and Santa is on the way. A busy time of shopping and cooking and cleaning to get ready, And the look on a child's face on Christmas Morning is Priceless!

Abby was born on Christmas Eve and I spent that Christmas 2003 in the Hospital and what a miracle it was. I always felt that it was Rick's Mom (who we lost on Dec 6 2001) that gave us Abby on this day. Abby was supposed to be born on Jan 10th 2004 and I told everyone that it would be the 12th I was surprised that it was the 12th month and not the 12th day of Jan. This was Shirley's Favorite day to have her family all together. We would all go to Church for Christmas eve mass and go back to the house for food and presents.
Everyone has there own traditions to what they do on Christmas morning, I remember My Sister and I would get up really early and sneak down stairs and go through our stocking hung above the fire place. (Not that Mom and Dad didn't know, we just thought they didn't) My Sister Amandda and I would swap and go through all of the goodies and then stuff them back into our stocking. We would go back up stairs and get Mom and Dad up or they would here us and come down. We had to wait until their coffee was ready then we could open presents. Oh what fun it was to be a child on Christmas morning.

Now that I have my own Child we have our own traditions. We have three large Christmas trees one for each floor. The Family Room is where my DH's (darling hubby) tree is, in the Living Room is My tree and where the presents are, on the third floor is Abby's tree and this is where Santa Brings her presents. She gets the biggest kick out of Santa delivering her Presents under her tree. She opens her stocking first too see what Santa brought and then she opens her gifts from Santa. When she is done she loves to pass out the gifts to us from under the tree. Then we back up and head to Mom and Dad's for Christmas there and Food. And you would think that would be all but it isn't you See for Abby's Birthday we have the family over the very next day to cealbrate Abby's birthday. YES even more gifts LOL. We Always make a big deal for her birthday. We have a party for her and her friends the Sat before Christmas. It is the busiest time of year for us but we love it! I don't think Abby would be happy if her birthday would be any other day of the year.

Fall Brings Thanksgiving

Now for Fall which Brings us to Thanksgiving

Oh Who doesn't like Thanksgiving the smells of pies cooking all day the breads and Turkey. What a day to gather around the table with Family and Friends and Thank God for our blessings. For are Family the excitement for Thanks giving starts the Saturday before at our Family Reunion in Ky. That is a true blessing to have so much of our family together and the food is out of this world. I have a little story I would like to share My Great Aunt Del would make Chicken and Dumpling and what a treat I guess it was. And from what I understand when she would make it it was very yellow and no one could figure out how she could get it so yellow. Well I guess some one asked her one day and she told them that she Added Yellow food coloring, oh what a laugh we all got when we heard that story. I bet she was a real hoot.

So Brings us to the Festive Month of November. The anticipation of Christmas is right around the corner and the Children are getting even more excited. The ads are in the newspapers and the Children are already to make the Wish list that Santa might bring them that very special present on Christmas morning.

I decided to so another set of cards from Simply Scrapbooks design team. I love The Greeting Farm stamps Miss Anya.

I am so ready for Fall what with the changing of the leaves and the crispness of the air, the excitement that the Holidays are on the way. What more can you ask for? No matter how hard times are getting or how tight the money is, there is still that joy in the air. The Kids are getting excited they know the holidays are near. So Let start off with Halloween. OOH the spooky frightful fun that awaits us all. That is what little Miss Anya is waiting for all dressed up in her warm fall clothes and who knows what scary treat waits around the corner. Hope you are ready lets Tick or Treat.

I hope Everyone had a nice and safe long weekend. It is hard to believe that we are already in September. The summer went by so fast for us. What with School starting in the middle of August and the weather is already starting to change even though we need rain. Abby's activity's have already started up. She is in two Dance classes and tumbling she is also ready to start back in to swim. I am just hoping to hold off on that a little longer. I am keeping busy with the design teams. So here are the cards that I have done for Simply Scrapbooks design team. The stamps are yet again from MFTS You Make My Heart Sing and Miss You Much.

This one is You make my heart sing. I paper pieced her clothes with October afternoon togetherness 6x6 paper pad and the back ground is from Memory Box 6x6 the fence is MS punch and the grass is MFT die-namics. The stamp looks like she is sitting on a music lines. However I decided to add legs and a back to make it look like a bench in a park. I almost thinks she is wishing for summer to stick around a little longer.

Now here is the same stamp but I made it so that she is on a swing. Her Clothes are paper pieced with October afternoon 6x6 paper pad and the tree branches are from memory box 6x6 paper pad. The grass is MFT die-namics. Abby loves to swing so when she saw this card she said Mommy that looks like me.

Now we are Waiting to go to Memaw & Pawpaw's, this is what Abby calls her grandparents and she loves to go and spend the weekend with them. So I had this card in mind of Abby. Even though she is a little to busy to sit and wait, she did keep asking me this passed Sat if she still got to go to Memaw & Pawpaw's house for the rest of the weekend. It made it nice that Monday was a holiday. Of course the clothes boots and suitcases are October afternoon togetherness 6x6 paper pad, the back ground was the 12x12 paper and the saying was done on the computer and printed out.

I really liked this stamp so much that I made two more cards this next one is a sewing theme. I used the 12x12 fly a kite strawberry jam from October afternoon to paper piece the clothes and suite cases, the back ground paper was 6x6 Cosmo cricket material girl. I cut slits in the suite cases and added scraps of fabric and of course 3 buttons. This reminded me of Abby sewing with her hello kitty sewing machine that I got her for her birthday last year.

Now for the last card that I made it is a very merry Christmas

Abby's birthday is Christmas Eve and of course her favorite holiday is of course Christmas. The Paper is the new Noel from Making Memories. I used holly stickles on the leaves of the holly. Well I hoped you enjoyed all the cards. I will be posting more a little later.

Here is my Pop up Pull up card for MPTS design team Yeah I got it done. However it also has a second purpose, it is also my Father-in-Laws birthday card. The plane is from a Victorian calender the button is very old from my Great Grandmothers collection the watch is cut out from graphic 45 paper. The Saying is a rub on.

I keep this a secret from Abby for over a month see didn't have a clue where she was going until we got there, and we where standing in line. Rick convinced her to dress up in her Ballet Recital custom (Cinderella) to go out to Dinner, and she was allowed to bring her Cinderella doll with her.

Wow was she excited to be there to see Cinderella you could see it in her face that her little Heart just melted. She had a wonderful time and at the end of the Play she got to meet all the Characters. Of course she did everything backwards first she had to get her Picture Taken with Cinderella and the Prince which was supposed to be last then she worked her way back the to see Fairy Godmother and the rest all the time fighting her way through the crowd. But oh who cares she was just in awwwww.

Pop up Pull up Card

Veggie Bella is one of my favorite stamping Bella Stamps. She looks ready to harvest her crops, but I don't she has to worry with the squirrel though do you? This is a pop up pull up card or an easel card. I used the MS fence punch I lined up the punch and made the fence twice as long. The squirrel and saying is from Crafty secrets fairy stamps. He or She is just the sweetest.

I took a picture of it laying down so you see what it looked like closed. If you pull up on the button it will stand Veggie Bella up again. and under the button you can also add a greeting. The saying May Joy in measure rain down on you way,And all that gives pleasure surround you today. Is a perfect saying with Veggie Bella. I hope all of you that planted a garden this year have a wonderful CROP!

First Day of School

Oh it can't be possible Wednesday was the first day of school. Our summer has seemed to fly. I am missing my lunch buddy. It is a little odd not to have her home 1/2 days. I am missing her but I now that she is having so much fun. She is in the same class for the first year with one of her good friends. They went to preschool and kindergarten together but they where never in the same class. Abby seems to be enjoying all day school and eating in the lunch room with all of her friends. She is growing up so fast. She came home and was so excited she got to play on the big kids play ground and got two recesses. I forgot to take her picture before she got on the bus so I had to take it when she got home from school. When I told her I wanted to take her picture she but her hands in the air and said oh brother. Oh what a HOOT she is and to be a kid with a carefree sprite.

How can you not love this face with a personality to boot. She is a case in a half and all mine. My heart just burstes with love and pride.

My Design Card for More Paper Than Shoes

Since the theme was stair step I did a side step stair step card for this month, Actually this is the second one for the month. I am filling in for the first Thursday until our Team leader can get someone. But This is my Thursday to day and here is my card. Sewing was my first passion then after I had Abby I got into scrap booking and card making. I have found that I love to make cards more that layouts now.

The stamps sets that I used to make this card where from Hero Arts and Crafty Secrets. I really like to mix and match my sets to come up with a project. The Paper that I used was from Websters Pages 6X6 Paper pad. Very vintage feel.

Slice Mistletoe wreath cut at 2"
StazOn black
Copics YR00 powder pink, E00 skin white, Y21 Buttercup yellow, R27 Cadmium red, R29 Lipstick red, E37 Sepia, G24 Willow

White Liquid Applique

Heat gun

Stickles Xmas Red, Gold, Frosted Lace

Paper Memory Box Mistletoe 6x6 pad

card stock cream, white, green and red

Card is 4" x 5 1/2"

Add pattern paper to front leaving a light border

stamp image and cut out paper piece image

Cut mat 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"

adhere image to mat once the paper piecing is done and adhere to front of card about 1 1/2" to an 1 7/8" from top

Stamp Awning twice on different pattern papers add pop dots to bottom and adhesive to the top and adhere above the image

Stamp awning on green turn over and cut in half,

turn awning up side down and place the larger piece on top

adhere down under the image

Cut out wreath in green and cut it again in red for the bow adhere

Add stickles let dry add liquid applique heat with heat gun for snow

stamp and cut out cafe and the presents and adhere.

Paper Used
Memory Box Gossamer paper pad 6x6
Cream and Brown Card Stock

twine

Card Size 4"x5 1/2"

Distress the edges of card with vintage photo ink

stamp the branch in upper corner using the colored Zig markers set aside

on Cream card stock stamp image paper piece the clothes

Stamp and color with copics and cut out the present and cake
On pattern paper stamp Cafe and cut out
Stamp out the dog and color bow and distress the Dog with vintage photo
Color the sink drinks table and chairs with copics
Awning stamp out on two different pattern papers and layer
to get the bottom piece for the window stamp the awning on brown trim down and turn upside down
Cut down the paper pieced image and mat into Brown 3"x3 1/2" cutting off the bottom edges.
Inside I cut three 2' tags stamped saying and added twine

Girls Day in My Favorite Things Stamps

Supplies used

Slice Mistletoe card scalloped oval tag and the shadow both cut at 2"
Martha Stewart Score board

pop dots

lace or ribbon

Copic pink RV11

Quickie Glue Pen

Paper used

Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess (back side)

Basic Grey Kioshi -lt purple pattern, lt green, lt blue, lt teal, lt purple

October Afternoon Thrift shop black and cream polka dot

Fancy Pants Road Show tag

Peach Card stock

Light Tan card stock

Make card 4x5 1/2

stamp in lt blue Kioshi to paper piece on and leave a border from the edge

Cut tag out cutting around the flowers cut tag about 5 lines in and and glue it back down on the other piece (other wise the tag is to long to fit on card)

stamp and cut out pieces and glue on top of stamped image color the glass with copic pink

Pop Dot paper pieced image on top of tag. set aside

Cut Lt blue Kioshi 3 1/4" x 3 7/8" Place toward bottom of card leave a border.

Add the Paper pieced you set aside at the top leaving a slight border

Stamp out the bottles 3 times one on the Lt- teal, green and purple stamp the cork on to light tan cut both out and paper piece together

Place bottles on black polka dots and one place the polka dot on the shadow piece

Cut Purple 2 1/4" x 3 7/8" Score 1/4 along the 3 7/8" side

Stamp saying at bottom of purple

add a piece of ribbon or lace to purple above the saying

Cut a 1" strip of lt green and bunch a border add a 1/4" strip and stamp out saying adhere at top of purple then add the shadow polka dot bottle

add adhesive to the 1/4 scored and adhere to card leaving a border at the bottom

Add the other two bottles underneath stamp saying sideways

Add a lace or ribbon Knot at the top
On the inside stamp two saying on one side and add a 1" strip of left over paper

Makes a great card for a BFF's Birthday Wedding or Baby Shower.

Tutorial For Box

Here are the supplies you will need:

1 piece of 8.5 x 11 card stock

2 coordinating designer papers (uses less than 1/2 sheet)

Martha Stewart score board

Crop-o-Dile

2 jumbo eyelets

Magnets

Spellbinders label 4 (3rd from the largest)

ribbon or lace

Score tape

Black StazOn

Copic Colors used-YR04-Chrome Orange, YR68-Orange,RV11-Pink,E04-Lipstick Natural, R27-Cadmium Red, R29-Lipstick Red, W3-Warm Gray, W7-Warm Gray, E37-Sepia

October Afternoon The thrift Shop (8x8) black and cream polka dots and Yellow Damask
For the Velum Tag I used glossy accents applied first then added Martha Stewart micro beads clear.

Cut the card stock for your box to 8" by 11"

Score the 11" side at 3", 5", 8" and 10"
Score 8" side at 1 1/2" and 6 1/2"
Cut out corners on score lines 1" and 3" on both sides
At score lines 6" and 8" cut up to score line both sides (do not cut out)

Cut 2 pieces of designer paper to 4 7/8" by 2 7/8", these will go on the front and back. If your DP has a definite top and bottom be mindful that you don't adhere the paper upside down

Using my Cuttlebug and spellbinders Labels 4 (the 3rd from the largest) cut out of the front panel, keeping towards the bottom edge so when the flap is closed your oval is still centered properly. You can always cut the front flap down a little if need be.(I cut my flap down a 1/4")
Adhere a piece of acetate to the inside of the front flap for your window
On the same end on the flaps place your score tape I added 2 strips
assemble your box.
Use a coordinating piece of designer paper to cover the top, flap and sides:
top piece: 1 7/8" by 4 7/8"
2 side pieces: 2 7/8" by 1 7/8"
front flap: 4 7/8" by 7/8" (remember to make it a little smaller the 7/8" if you cut it down)
Place the + side of the magnets on the inside of the box (add a glue dot or score tape to the back of the + side and adhere. place the - side of the magnet the front of the box with the - facing toward you (you might want to add a glue dot to this to it so it is stronger) then line of the lid and press.
For the ribbon handle, set the largest hole punch on your Crop-a-Dile to 1/2" depth.
Punch a hole in both sides, set with a jumbo eyelet

Abby had a birthday party to goto for one of her little friends. So I made her a card using banners, Yes I am on the band wagon with Banners I just love them. SO I finally got to play with my parties card from Slice to make this card. I also used vintage findings for the bird and the clouds are dies from My Favorite Things Stamps.

I made this Side Step Stair Step card with Abby In mind she is growing up so fast. I fell her child hood slipping away from me. My Little girl is going to start 1st grade. This will be the first time that she well be at school all day all week. Man I have a lot to keep me busy but I will no longer get to have lunch time with my baby and get her all to myself before Daddy gets home from work. Yes I am feeling very selfish right and I have that right. lol This card was Also for my design team More Paper than shoes. I Used free click art from flickr and October afternoon paper. Here are the measurements for the card.

The card base is 5.5 x 12"
Score the card at 4", 6.5", 9", and 10.5"
Measure in 2.5" (this was my measurment0

Been Down and out

I have been down and out, or at least out of it. I have had an inner ear infection, and I can tell you that it has not been fun what so ever. Having vertigo and feeling sick is not what I ever want to experience again. This has been a horrid week and Abby has been a trouper, She has helped me this week being a big girl and understanding that Mommy has not been feeling well. I am just glad that I have been getting a little ahead with getting my cards done. I go to my first meeting tomorrow for Simply Scrapbooks design team. I am excited to get that started. So I have a lot of work ahead of me. It keeps my artistic talents flowing and I love that. Abby only has 3 days of summer school left next week so I have a lot to get done in those 3 days. I will be up loading some more pictures hopefully tomorrow once I get home from work and Simply Scrapbooks.

If you have to go camping you might as well look good doing it......

Well that's enough singing for now.

Now on to the camping card I have a little story to tell no I am sorry it is not a scary camp fire story either. I was (on a riding mower) mowing the lawn on Monday and of course my mind goes a hundred miles an hour when a light bulb went off in my head (mind you this happens a lot when I am in the shower and right before I go to sleep I don't know why but it does). Anyway I had to stop the and go run it to the house to get a little note book and pencil to right down my idea of course or I will forget if I don't. First the saying came to me "If you have to go camping you might as well look good doing it" I had to keep repeating it to myself until I got it down. So I decided to take said note book and pencil out on the mower with me so I could finish jotting down ideas when I got them. (Yes I did look a little funny stopping every so often to write something down. Thank God My Hubby is used to this strange occurrence but people driving by did slow down a little.)

So for the card and it's design I had made this card base with the triangle cut out of the center and the scallops on the edge. I had that part done for a while and just set it to the way side. That was until I got the idea for the camping card then I added the pink paper and the berry paper to it. I made so it looked like the tent was opening. The women was from Hero Arts stamps and the table was cut from my slice. I had some camping stickers mercy from years and years ago that had the Coffee pot and cups. SO I add them to the table along with a table cloth. Now for the Inside of the card.

For the inside I used my Slice again to cut the grass (I really need to get that Martha steward grass punch) I don't really like it but it worked. I also Used the slice to cut the man rowing the boat as well as the sign. The pond I just cut by hand from some water paper. My tree and fire where from the same stickers as the coffee pot and cups. Thanks for taking the time to read my long story I hope you got a laugh out of it I know I did just writing It.

My Dear Dad has been asking when I am going to get these on my blog. The problem I was having was trying to get pictures of them it wasn't easy I can tell you that. The lighting was all wrong most of the time. But with true diligence my Mom and I got some good pictures.

The earrings are done on scrabble tiles and

the necklace pendant is a rummy cube tile.

The Art Work is Locus Wings I copied prints of my sisters art work.

I used October Afternoon Paper for the back ground and the waves. The Sun and the Boat was cut using my wonderful Slice. The Dolphin was a stamp from imaginisce. The Clouds where cut using a die cut from MFTS (my favorite things stamps) I cut the clouds out of felt from Hobby Lobby.

Enevlope Note Card Box

I was looking for a new style of a note card box to make and I came across a blog (sorry I don't remember which blog it was) that was selling a block of wood to be able to make a thick (or 1/4" depth) envelope. Well if anyone knows me they should know that if I like it well enough I am going to try to figure out how to make it. Well that is just what I did. I was wanting to make a Note card box with thick envelopes and after a little work I made it. So here it is for everyone to see. I used Amy Bulter paper and my slice, as well as some Hero Art stamps and I think even Autumn Leaves stamps. Let me know what you think.

I pray everyone had a wonderful and save 4th of July. IT was busy here my Mom and Dad had Abby over the weekend and they took her to West Alex for Farm Days. I guess Abby had a ball, she got to see cow girls and a redo. She also got to pet a Joey that was 4months old and feed pygmy goats. Abby also got her face painted a butterfly and pink of course. The went back that night to see fire works. I should have gone with her, but Rick and I stayed in town and got to watch Huber Heights Fire Works. It was fun but I got no less than a 8 bug bits on my legs. I will have some pictures to put up a little later

I am Proud to say that I got asked to join the design card team over at More Paper than Shoes. This is a fun way for me to enjoy my summer while Abby heads off to summer school (so she can get a boost for 1st grade) So I will have some free time to work on projects. We all Live in a Yellow Submarine in an Octopus's Garden

Ok so we don't all live in a yellow sub but hey the idea for the card screamed out to me for my Brother-in -Law's Birthday. Since he is a HUGH Beatles fan.

I used my wonderful Slice to help me make this card and what fun it was to make to.Here is a close up and you can see the Beatles in the windows of the sub and here is the inside of the card. I used my slice to die cut the words and the 55th..........

Ok It is time to show our pride for the Red White and Blue! Well at least it is American Made lol. I did make this card for a 4th of July birthday. For the inside I came up with a witty little saying. "Don't be a boob just blow out the candles and
don't be and even bigger butt make the wish first." Oh course Rick came up with some other Ideas for this card design while we were having dinner so you just might see some more of these cards in the future. Only time will tell......

Are these the sweetest owl you have ever seen? Well Thanks to My Dad who was very sweet and drew this owl for me so I could make these sweet little things. I resized it to make a box and card. I am going to try and make it again and make it a little smaller. I winged the box part and it took two trys but I got it. I used my slice to cut the eyes and nose for the owls. The Paper I used was was K&Co Amy Butler and Pebbles-sunshine.

Teacher's Gift Set

This is the front and the inside of the Note card folder and Note cards with envelopes That I made for Abby's teacher for the end of the school year. I enjoyed making this so much that I made two more. All the same design just a little differnt paper and ribbon. I just the Tart and tangy stampin up stamp set. The paper is from one of my favorite lines by October Afternoon. I turned one of them in for a design call team at Simply Scrapbooks that I am hoping to get on. I am excited that I even turned in anyting for a design team call. Even if I don't get it I am just proud of myself for even getting the nerve up for trying out for it. I am ready to get my feet wet and test some new waters. I guess I have a lot of work cut out ahead of me so i am jumping in with two feet. No guts no glory!

Thank you cards seem to be a lost art. SO I felt that since my Good Friend Nickie was so nice for what she did for me that it was time I made a thank you card. Of Course she a a great artist herself so I wasn't sure how much she would even like it, but she was so please and surprised by it that it made my heart sing. LOL It made my day that she really liked it. Now don't get me work my Mom Loves my cards as well and that always tickles me pink. But of course I always get ticked when my Mom thinks of me and makes me a card and when she makes Abby a card just for the sake of making a card.

Now about my Thank You card. I used hero arts stamps as well as my Wonderful Slice machine to cut the bird and the branch. The paper I used was K&Co. Amy Bulter I love her paper as well as fabric.

My Recessed window card. These are so much fun to make. I used Stamping Bella stamps and October afternoon paper. I pop dotted the flower in the vases so they stand out from the hanging baskets. I used flower soft for a little textured demention.

OK OK OK I know I have not keep up with my blogging. So here goes I guess, a little late than never. I love the look of vintage clothing and these women where great. I cut the women out and re sized them first. I cut the side of the card using a Tim Holtz sizzix die cut. I added a vintage belt buckle and some lace. The red doilie piece is from October Afternoon paper I cut out also. Oh and a shout out goes to Nickie thanks for the idea.
